Property Description

Landmark Villa in Barbados as the name aptly suggests is truly one of the landmark villas of the island. It is a well maintained 6 bedroom villa; 4 bedrooms in the main house and 2 in the tree house style guest cottage. It has a really beautiful location directly on the premier and most exclusive beach on the island of Barbados in St James on the west coast of Barbados. Landmark House has also got the distinguishing feature of being one of only three villas which is located directly on the Sandy Lane Beach. It is almost at the most northerly end of the beach and therefore has wonderful commanding views of the whole of the crescent shaped bay.               

The location is truly hard to beat. Landmark is a 2 minute walk along the beach to the famous and very exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel. You will need to have reservations to enter the hotel but our concierge team at Villas Barbados or our Villa Manager at Landmark will be delighted to assist you with pre bookings. In addition, it is possible to walk along the beach as far as Payne’s Bay Beach in low tide. There are several restaurants along here too which are worth visiting for lunches and dinners such as the well known Daphne’s Restaurant. Should you wish to do a spot of shopping, the Sun Crest shopping centre where there is an excellent market is literally 400 meters from the front gate of the Landmark Villa. The lovely town of Holetown which has an excellent selection of both designer shops and lovely boutiques and restaurants is just a little bit further past Sun Crest. 

Landmark is the epitome of a colonial style beach house with a real authentically Caribbean feel to it. This rental property embodies the spirit of old Barbados with its tiled floors, warm woods, overstuffed upholstered couches, wicker wood and wide open feel.

The living area of the house is completely covered but open on three sides making it feel like you are not just in a villa but actually at one with nature. The sounds and the smells of the tropics are all around you. The wonderful aromas of the tropical flowers such as bougainvillea, Ylang Ylang, jasmine and Hibiscus are accompanied by a chorus of song from the many lovely birds and ever present tree frogs. Because of the open design of the house, there is a lovely cooling breeze going through the villa all day long and well into the evening.

The location and beach and sea are without a doubt one of the highlights of the villa. There is a reserved area on the beach for our guests of Villas Barbados just above the high tide mark with sun beds and some natural shade from the surrounding ancient Mahogany, palm and Manchineel trees. The beach at Sandy Lane is truly stunning. There is no location or beach that is more sought after on the island of Barbados. Many of our guests who initially ask for a swimming pool realise as soon as they arrive that there is no need for one as the sea is so calm and warm and perfect for swimming year around.  

There are 6 nice bedrooms in Landmark. Four of these are in the main house and two are located in the adjacent treetop cottage. The four in the main house comprise of two master bedrooms. One on the first floor and the second on the ground floor. Both of them have amazing oversized spa like bathrooms which are one of the lovely luxuries of the villa. They comprise of local exposed coral stone walls with luxury marble finishes.

The cottage which actually has a tree house feel to it comprises of a living and open plan dining areas located on the upstairs patios overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens. The two bedrooms in the cottage are interconnected.

The outdoor areas are remarkable and comprise of a separate dining pagoda as well as two more informal dining areas located side by side in the gardens. There is also a lovely barbeque area as well as plenty of sun beds scattered through the gardens so you can enjoy the outdoors to its fullest.

Landmark is a really flexible house as many of the rooms can be made up with either two single beds or one king bed. It is therefore ideal for both families and groups of adults or a number of couples travelling together and can sleep up to 12 people. Because of its location, it is also a great villa for a small party, wedding or special occasion. It is also possible to rent Landmark on either a 4 or 6 bedroom basis which is good to know. Please enquire with our Villas Barbados expert for the rates.

STAFF

The villa is really well cared for by a team of staff who’ve been working for the owners for years. Percy is the wonderful butler and he’s a mind of local information. He is responsible for the house and always has a big smile for our guests at Villas Barbados. Other members of the team include a full time cook, maid, laundress, gardener and security guard.   

In addition, Landfall has a dedicated Villa Manager who is always on hand to help with any small or large requirement you may have to ensure that every detail of your vacation is perfect.

Villas Barbados also has an excellent and complimentary pre arrival concierge service and Julie who is in charge of the department will be delighted to help you with all your requests prior to your arrival to this tropical paradise.

Such a great location on Sandy Lane beach..perfect swimming, great walks all the way down to Paynes Bay. Landmark itself is a gorgeous property, lovely gardens & space for relaxing outdoors. <
>Good to know the living area is totally open plan onto the garden & the beach but the bedroom area can be secured..there's 24 hour security on the property but I really felt this was more for guest peace of mind than anything else..Also loved the bathrooms!
