Oceans Edge is a wonderful vacation home located at the beautiful Merlin Bay complex in the exclusive Garden area on the west coast of Barbados. Merlin Bay consists of 8 individual villas, each with their own private plunge pool. It’s a wonderful location to relax & enjoy all that the paradise Island of Barbados has to offer. Oceans Edge has arguably the best aspect of all the villas here with unobstructed views of the Caribbean sea.
Oceans Edge also has a beautiful lush garden with a wooden decked area which provides seclusion and shade to guests where they can enjoy the cooling trade winds while they enjoy a morning coffee, a good book or simply relax & settle into Island time.
As you enter the Merlin bay complex & stroll down through the beautiful shared gardens your eyes are naturally drawn to the stunning azure ocean. You can’t help but feel relaxed & that your vacation time has begun.
Merlin Bay is located just north of the very chic Holetown where you’ll find all the best in Barbados shopping, there’s everything from the upmarket Limegrove shopping Mall to the traditional Chattel shops where guests love to wander around & shop for island keepsakes. There’s also a wonderful selection of restaurants to choose from in Holetown & all along the west coast where guests can dine by the sea with fabulous sea views. There are some great café’s in Holetown too and a vibrant night life on 2nd street.
Speightstown is another very popular town for guests to Barbados to visit, it’s located just 10 minutes drive north of Oceans Edge & Merlin Bay. Here guests will enjoy a more authentic Island experience with open air stalls, markets & street vendors. It’s a seaside town too & guests can meander around & often see the local fisherman unloading their catch on the jetty and can have a chat with the friendly local characters hanging out around the Esplanade. It’s a vibrant little town with a mix of colonial & more modern buildings.
Oceans Edge offers guests wonderful comfort & beachside charm. You enter the villa on the middle floor where you’ll find the fully equipped kitchen, indoor dining area, living room, opening out onto the outdoor terrace with a dining table for al fresco dining overlooking the Caribbean sea. The view is truly picture perfect. The floors throughout are all natural stone and there are granite worktops & vanity units in all the bathrooms where the taps are Hansgrohe.
The Master bedroom with a King bed is ensuite & is located on the top floor, this bedroom enjoys panoramic views from its private terrace. It’s a wonderful spot to while away a couple of hours reading a book or simply taking in the amazing vista. Here there’s also access to a roof-top terrace & there’s no-where better to take in the amazing sunsets with a rum punch in hand. The second bedroom is also on this top level and is also ensuite, this bed can conveniently be made up as a King or twin (2 x single beds).
On the ground level you’ll find the 3rd bedroom which is also ensuite & again the bedroom can be made up as King/Twin. It’s a bright spacious bedroom with patio doors opening onto the beautiful patio area with Oceans Edge very own private plunge pool. Again the seaviews are spectacular & there’s patio furniture so guests can relax & enjoy.
COMMUNAL AREA:
Truly a slice of paradise, Merlin Bay also offers guests use of the large lagoon style shared swimming pool (Pool is 30' X 70', 4' at the shallow end and 7' at the deep end) which is set in the centre of the complex with lots of sun loungers where guests can relax & soak in the beautiful Bajan sunshine. The stunning Barbados weather makes it the ideal choice all year around.
Merlin Bay offers round the clock management, security & private parking for guests. Access to the gorgeous beach is via a lovely winding path that leads through the trees & down the steps to the beach below.

Oceans Edge = Paradise Oceans Edge is amazing! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found paradise at Oceans Edge Villa. The views and sounds of the Caribbean Sea, so relaxing! Snorkling at the secluded beach is amazing! The chef cooked delicious/nutritious meals; introducing us to local traditional favorites. Yum! The housekeeper took fantastic care of us, even laundered our clothes before our depature; great to unpack clean clothes upon returning home.
This has been my dream holiday, excellent in every way. Have been here with my family around 6 times It is my favourite place in the world it is paradise I defy anyone to disagree it has everything the staff are amazing and friendly We all love it . we have been all over the world but keep coming back to Oceans edge.
Oceans Edge is what I describe as a little gem! It offers our guests great value for such a beautiful beachfront villa. Although it's within the lovely Merlin Bay complex, it feels like a standalone home as you're looking directly onto the sea from so many aspects in the home. Pam is a treasure & our guests love her. I'd highly recommend to those who love to be beachfront, to families as the pool is always a big hit with children & to those looking for a peaceful island break in a good central location.
